We finished another Sticker Mosaic and boy is it beautiful! So proud of our team work!
A Starry Night Ms. Dvorsky introduced the card exchange this week. Students of Devonshire will be exchanging cards with classrooms across the United States. The creation of cards is a group effort! One card could have pieces from students from multiple grade levels! We'll be writing our messages soon! We can't wait to see what we hear back! This is one of our optional stations that students can choose to participate in when they are finished getting the materials they need from the library. Nearly everyone has chosen this station! So fun!
Fourth grade learns economics! Kindergarten reads...we remind them reading pictures is reading too! Fifth grade researches stories for the school news broadcast. Small groups become experts using D-Lab tools. Fourth grade broadcasters
This week our kindergarten classes listened to a read aloud called Jack's House, a humorous twist on the nursery rhyme 'This is the House that Jack Built.' After reading, we headed to the D-Lab to build the tallest structure we could using 50 Keva Planks. There were so many great things to see. Our students were using critical thinking skills, collaborating, and coming up with creative solutions to get their structures taller and taller. We measured our structures. The tallest one was 15 inches! In the coming weeks, we will continue to experiment with other building materials and I can't wait to see their progress!
